20" tall, c.1960s, "Chatty Cathy" by Mattel with thick, curly, dark brown, rooted hair, blue sleep eyes, open/closed mouth with two teeth, freckles, cute nose and working pull-string "talker" mechanism altho the words are not understandable. She wears original, tagged: Chatty Cathy yellow cotton dress with short sleeves and white collar, pink and blue trim, original panties and original socks, shoe, (needs one shoe). Good clean condition, ORIGINAL ISSUE, not the recent reissue and getting hard to find. Hard plastic jointed body with hard vinyl head. This is not the reissue doll but an original version marked: Chatty Cathy 1960, Chatty Baby 1961 by Mattel U.S. Pat 3,017,187 Other US & Foreign Pats. Pend Adorable doll ! Wouldn't she be great under the Christmas tree? Just like you remember her. It's never too late for a Happy Childhood!
