3 1/2" tall, early (1800s), carved wooden, jointed sailor man with wire jointed shoulders and hips as shown on page 391, "Coll. Encyclopedia of Dolls", vol.2-Coleman. He is in mint condition having navy blue painted, double-breasted sailor outfit with matching cap, finely carved and painted features, tiny black shoes, from the Erzgebirge area of Germany. Excellent.
