27" tall, wooden framed doll with heavy, wire mesh torso referred to as the "Coleman Walker" or "fly trap doll", c.1917. See illustration, #50 p.143 in "The Best of The Doll Reader, Vol.2". Very unusual boy doll with hinges at the elbows and knees, spring joints at the hips, head is composition and has some flaking of the paint although the features are still clear, molded hair, closed mouth. He has lots of patent information stamped on the torso and is quite a rare and unusual, early American doll. Feet shaped to walk.
