GREAT pair of antique bisque figurines (unglazed porcelain), one measuring 5" tall and the other measuring 6 1/2" tall, depicting BLACK man and boy. Of very good quality with deep modeling of features, etc. (similar to those by Geb. Heubach) each figure is seated facing the back of a light green chair with arms folded and resting on the back. They have molded, tight curly black hair (boy's hair is glazed), very large pink lips, smoking a pink cigar, brown eyes. They both wear waist coats with long pink lapels, and high pink boots, white shirt with collar, green ties, (dad's has gold high-lites to buttons, lapels, tie pin), molded belt buckles at back, large top hats with pink bands. Smaller figure is excellent-larger is missing the cigar (easily replaced) and has an old reglue at hands and hat (not easy to see). Terrific pair of Americana, c.1890-1915.
