Super RARE, early, c.1918, "Mary Jane" by Effanbee (see "Effanbee Dolls-The Formative Years 1910-1929" by Patricia Schoonmaker, pages 81-91 for history and photos). Pictured on page 84, it states that this is a very rare size. She measures 16" tall and is completely original with sleep, blue-grey metal eyes, brown painted eyebrows as well as upper and lower lashes, open mouth with upper teeth and tongue, original brown hair wig, composition sockethead, signed Effanbee, on composition and wood fully jointed body (also signed Effanbee). She is in excellent condition with no crazing, no chips, no repainting and no repairs and wearing blue checked cotton dress over one-piece slip, panties, blue wool coat and matching bonnet.
