14 1/2"-15" tall, all composition, signed on head: Effanbee and across her shoulders: Effanbee/Anne-Shirley, "Barbara Joan", c.1936-9, American Children Series by Dewees Cochran with large, pretty sleep, brown eyes and lashes, lovely open mouth with tongue and teeth, lovely coloring. She has a five-piece body and wears an adorable red plaid cotton skirt with straps over her white cotton blouse with 3/4 length sleeves, rickrack trim and pearl buttons (needs undies) and shoes as she is wears just one white leather shoe. Her hair is auburn red/brown, thick and in long braids with thick bangs (replaced long ago). She is in very good to excellent condition except for one pinky finger missing and a few very tiny lines over one eye, some faint paint craze lines on her legs. Wears original, Effanbee metal heart bracelet. Adorable, hard to find doll.
