Approximately 13" tall, quite rare and unusual, Portrait Series-1896, for Dressel of UNCLE SAM with bisque sockethead depicting an elderly man, with brown glass inset eyes, painted lashes, thickly-modeled, brush-stroked, grey brows, large ears, with incised and red outlined age wrinkles overall face, closed mouth with benign smile and long nose, composition and wood ball-jointed body. Head mkd: S 1, part of the American legendary series. Originally dressed in Uncle Sam costume, striped pants, star vest, watch fob and tall hat with star band and blue felt jacket, shirt and tie. SUPER! Excellent condition.
