Wonderful, little wooden or papiermache, wirejointed figure of a soldier of the Foreign Legion, 3 1/4" tall with the finest carved and painted features including a mustache and beard, red cap with black brim, wooden arms and legs attached by wires, dark blue jacket and red trousers, red collar and black painted boots. Possibly a holiday ornament. Mint condition,c.1800s.
