13" in tall, very-hard-to-find, composition and wood with segmented limbs, c.1939, comic character,"King Little", by Ideal (also listed as being made by The Cameo Doll Co.) and designed by Joseph Kallus. Original comic by Marjorie Buell. He has a wooden crown, molded long grey hair, large side-glancing eyes, molded eyebrows and painted mustache, molded jacket with attached long cloth cape, gold vest, fully labeled: "King-Little" by Paramount Pictures, Inc., 1939/Made by Ideal Novelty and Toy Co., Inc. on his chest as shown on page 307, "Composition Dolls"- Mertz as well as on page 18, "Composition and Wood Dolls"-Michele Karl. Unusual and colorful comic doll in generally excellent condition with some very light paint craze lines, little yellow paint loss to vest, otherwise great.
