Very special, 16" long, 12" head cir., antique bisque, character baby sister to "Hilda" by J.D. Kestner, Germany, model #247, as described on page 148, "Kestner, King of Dolls"-Foulke as being made immediately after HILDA and found much less often. Exceptional model, excellent cond. with finest quality bisque having excellent coloring. The bisque sockethead is incised: Made in Germany/247/JDK 12 with beautiful, sleep brown glass eyes with upper & lower finely painted lashes, multi-stroke brows, brown human hair wig, open mouth with outlined lips, two upper teeth and tongue, orig. five-piece baby body with original paint (some paint craze). Wearing an old lavish, multi-layered christening gown, slip and teddy she is contained in her original layette basket lined with pink dotted swiss having pockets for accessories, etc. attached to the sides, decorated with pink silk ribbons.
