4 1/2" tall, antique china half-doll, "Pierrette" (MW 577-452), page 416, "Collector's Encyclopedia of Half-Dolls"-Marion & Werner. She is incised: 5768 with her hands clasped away from her body, below her chin, bent at the elbows, head slightly tilted toward her left shoulder, soulful expression enhanced by her heavy eyeshadow, very detailed brown eyes, very pretty mouth, light brown locks of molded & painted hair peek from beneath the traditional black skull cap, light cheek blush. She represents the female companion to the Italian comedy character, "Pierrot". Excellent condition. See also page 57, plate 121, Pat Smith's-"Album of All Bisque Dolls".
