Wonderful, rare, c.1830-1860, English slit-head WAX-over-composition shoulderhead doll with round face, slightly smiling mouth, lovely inset blue glass eyes and pale blond, human hair ringlets inset in center slit of top of her head, deeply molded shoulders, original sawdust-stuffed cloth body with shaped feet (pointing inward), one original leather arm (another can be made using an old leather glove). Charming old doll in excellent condition, undressed, clean, no rewaxing or chipping. Truely a collector's item, she is 21 1/2" long and extremely appealing.
