The rarest version of this popular, composition, Patsy family doll, SKIPPY is 14" tall, ALL ORIGINAL, in his "White Horse Inn" outfit with PIN as described on page 241, "Doll Values", 3rd edition-Moyer*. He has molded blond hair and painted eyes and wears the complete original, (unusual) seldom seen outfit as he wore in the comic series and books he appeared in, c.1929. * This exact version is valued at $1,400 without the accessories that are included with our example. This adorable boy doll was inspired by Percy L. Crosby's, 1925, wonderful, hardcover 8 1/2" x 11" book, "Skippy", which is INCLUDED. It has many color as well as black & white, full-page, illustrations (all signed) showing him in this exact outfit. In addition, we have collected 21 original, c.1929, rare newspaper COMICS that are also included as well as an original (very hard to find), signed: "Skippy" c.1933, P.L. Crosby "Beetleware" CEREAL BOWL with his picture in the bottom. Doll is in generally good condition except for the paint on his hair under the cap, which has crazing and some flaking, small craze line around his nose. His outfit consists of brown 2-piece suit with shirt, plaid cap, tie, original socks and white leatherette shoes with ties-no repainting or repairs.
