Wonderful, all original, large size, 12" tall, c.1946, companion doll to our set of five "Litttle Women", item #4469. This set of china shoulderhead, character ladies from the book has pink tinted head and soft brown painted hair with expressive blue painted eyes and pretty closed mouth, signed: R.G. for the maker, Ruth Gibbs, Flemington, N.J. designed by Herbert Johnson. She wears all her original clothing consisting of long (turkey red) printed gown with flower print and lace trim, matching lace shawl and bonnet, rare, gold painted shoes, long lace slip and pantaloons, robbon ties, pink cloth body and shina limbs, excellent condition. These dolls were made for only a short period after WWII.
