Wonderful, very unusual, commercially made, c.1930, black felt character girl (looks like Josephine Baker, the entertainer). She has painted, side-glancing eyes with thick lashes, red lips with white painted space between, tightly sewn, curly yarn hair, brass hoop earrings, felt flowers in her hair, swivel neck and brown felt body with individually stitched fingers and wearing a ring on one finger, bead necklace, silk teddy, red shoes and knit socks (matching felt flowers on her shoes). Excellent condition with no moth holes or repairs, measures 13 1/2" tall, with jointed shoulders and hips.
