Very RARE and unusual, antique bisque, flange (solid dome) neck, baby with sweet expression, distinctive features, beautiful blue glass, sleep eyes, closed mouth and softly painted hair. He/she has that "newborn baby or dream baby-style look" with orig. cloth body and chubby composition hands in little fists. The head has layers of molded rolls of fat at the neck and is incised: Germany/1400-4. His head measures 12 1/2" in circumference and is of a very high quality, smooth bisque with thick eyebrows to match his hair. He measures 15 1/2' long (with his antique baby gown and matching slip measuring over 30" in length). Inside his gown is a sewn-in label "Cherub". He is an outstanding character baby in excellent condition.
