WONDERFUL, 5 1/4", petite bisque, black child, probably by Simon & Halbig and incised: 38 with brown glass, sleep eyes, tiny open mouth with teeth, upper & lower lashes, remnants of original black wig, orig. pate in place and five-piece brown composition body with painted-on blue shoe (one shoe is broken off at the ankle) and molded ribbed stockings with red bands. She wears original beige and pink wool dress with lace trim, matching bonnet with pink trim and comes complete in her original wicker basket that con- tains four addition homemade frocks and a brown velvet coat. Basket is stamped: Germany. Terrific presentation.
