Extremely rare & hard-to-find, c.1949, BLACK rubber, "Amosandra" baby doll from the CBS Amos 'N' Andy radio program, by the Sun Rubber Co., designed by Ruth E. Newton. She is 10" long and is an open mouth/nurser, wetter with molded black curly hair, big brown painted eyes, very cute expression. She has a swivel head and jointed, bent limbs (one elbow area is somewhat soft and wrinkled). She is signed on her torso: AMOSANDRA/cprt./Columbia Broadcasting/System, Inc./Designed by/Ruth E. Newton/Mfg. by/The Sun Rubber Co./Barberton, O. U.S.A./Pat. 2118682/Pat. 2160739 and is in generally excellent condition wearing an adorable, old pink and white dotted cotton sunsuit with blue bias trim. Together with item #4130 they make a terrific PAIR!
