WONDERFUL, COMPLETE SET of three, c.1934, composition 9 1/2" tall, "Red Riding Hood, Grandma and the Wolf" dolls, exactly as pictured on page 223, "Composition Dolls"-Mertz. Each is in excellent condition with jointed shoulders and hips and having a swivel head. They were advertised in the Sears Roebuck catalog for that year and manufactured by Freundlich, Inc., New York City. They each have the Patsyette type body with same type arms and are originally dressed as shown. It is RARE to find the whole set still intact and these are a treasure. They are also pictured on page 206, "Composition & Wood Dolls"-Michele Karl. They are in excellent condition with no cracks, chipping, crazing or repainting altho there is a small spot of paint rubbed on one of grandma's cheeks (no harm, could easily be touched up). Altho they originally came without shoes as described in these references, both the wolf and red riding hood have acquired shoes by their previous owner. This set's current "15th Blue Book"-Foulke value is $800-900 as shown on page 267. See them also on page 95, "Compo. Dolls"-Judd.
