12 1/2" tall, EARLY, c.1890, bisque sockethead, provincial lady, incised: Heubach/250-12/o/Koppelsdorf/Germany. She is completely original with soft brown, human hair wig with bangs, originally set, blue glass eyes, pretty open mouth with row of teeth, finely molded features with slender nose, lovely cheek color and upper & lower finely painted eyelashes, molded and painted eyebrows. Her body is the early, completely jointed type with extra joints at the elbows, wrists and knees. Her elaborate ethnic costume includes long stockings, wooden shoes, panties, flannel slip, long skirt, blouse with trim, vest, long apron and lace "dutch" cap over another plainer, flannel fitted cap. Wonderful condition throughout. She also has a padded bust to denote an older woman rather than a child. Hard to find these dolls with original clothing as so many were redressed and later played with.
