Hard to find, 11" tall, PAIR of German, vinyl character dolls, "Stups and "Trine" with rooted curly red hair, painted green eyes, smiling (water- melon) mouths-hers with one tooth-freckles and chubby, rosey cheeks. Each is signed on the head and body as made by Charlot Byj in 1957 for Goebel, W. Germany with matching sequence numbers of 2901 and 2902. They have jointed arms and legs with swivel heads and wear their original green out- fits: hers a green & white checkered cotton dress with green knit tights and his: green wool felt lederhosen (shorts with embroidered straps & red trim). He has a green four-leaf clover Good Luck insignia on his arm-she has a small heart. Very good condition on both. See description on page 231, Pat Smith's "Doll Values"-7th series.
