VERY RARE & hard to find, early, c.1923, composition character toddler doll by Ideal, "Snoozie Smiles, the Surprise Baby", 16" tall, as shown on pages 306-307, "20th Century Dolls"-Anderton. This wonderful, MULTI-FACE child has a SWIVEL HEAD with originally painted features (one side has a happy, smiling face with two painted teeth and the other shows his crying/frowning face with tears in eyes). He has the cloth body with two voice boxes-not working) and composition lower arms, hard-stuffed, cloth legs, very clean. He wears ALL HIS ORIGINAL CLOTHING: a beige and brown plaid, cotton romper, long cotton socks with yellow tops and black leatherette shoes with ties & buckles. Was advertised in Jan. 1923 in "Today's Housewife" magazine and also by Sears. Very good condition altho there is slight paint wear, does not destract, craze line on side of one forehead. GREAT EXAMPLE.
