Beautiful, 17" tall, antique bisque shouderhead child by J.D. Kestner, Germany with row of square-cut teeth and pretty open mouth, lovely brown, antique glass, sleep eyes with incised eyelids and finely painted lower lashes, multi-stroke brows that match her beautiful light brown wig of thick curls and bangs, lovely cheek coloring and good quality bisque. Her jointed kid body has been over painted long ago with white shoepolish to preserve the life of the leather. And she has pin-jointed knees, hips, shoulders and elbows with original lovely bisque lower arms with finely detailed fingers (one thumb nicked), nicely shaped feet. Her head is incised: Made in Germany in script. She is undressed and in excellent condition with no chips, no hairlines and no repairs. Wonderful quality, cabinet-size doll at nearly half her book value price.
