21" tall, beautiful, antique bisque sockethead girl, c.1899, (probably by Jumeau, France) and incised only: D E P and 10 at the neck (big sister to our item #4889 and came from the same owner). She has lovely blue, paperweight (threaded) sleep glass eyes, deeply molded eye sockets, inner eye corner, red dots, lower finely painted lashes, thick, upper hair lashes, pierced ears and old, long, human hair wig with center part. Her deeply molded mouth has outlined lips and is open with a row of fine porcelain teeth. She has the very high forehead (rim under wig has the red fired in artist's signature mark) with multi-stroke, thickly painted brows to match her hair and a good quality, fully jointed compo and wood body (little repair at the knees) with the very flat seat (earlier model body). Her hands have probably been replaced long ago as they are the thicker German looking (altho antique) type. She wears a charming, peach color, antique doll dress with dropped waist, wide lace insert, lots of tiny tucks and buttons and is in excellent overall condition. Such a pretty, French doll.
