22" tall, antique bisque sockethead girl incised: A-17 Paris as shown on page 342, 12th Blue Book-Foulke. This is a very late, c.1905, model with CLOSED MOUTH, less smooth bisque, similar to Lanternier of Limoges. She has pierced ears, thick multi-stroke brows, upper and lower painted lashes, pale color, large brown glass sleep eyes (need to be reset) and original good French jointed body (hands are either repainted or replaced). She has an old (tight)hairline running across the back of her head from beneath one ear to the other, (thru the pierced ear hole to the eyebrow) which cannot be seen from the front. Her long brunette wig accents her French appeal and she wears a marvelous antique gown, socks and silk shoes. Quite a stunning French doll.
