Charming PAIR of Roldan (later Klumpe, imported by Effanbee) Spanish dancer and bullfighter, made in Spain, cloth over wire armature dolls, c.1930s. Each doll measures about 10 1/2" tall, the lady wearing a mustard yellow flamenco-style dress with double ruffled hemline, green trim and loose fringe, hoop earrings and large metal comb and flower in her brown hair, bangle bracelets on one arm and holding castanets, red felt shoes and very full ruffled slip. The matador wears red satin fitted pants to the knee with gold braid trim, matching fitted jacket with fancy capelet, vest and shirt, has black floss hair and braid brandishing a sword beneath the red felt cap he is holding. Both are in very good condition.
