Wonderful, antique bisque, unglazed porcelain, BLACK figural matchstrike with cigarette holder measuring 5 1/2" x 4 3/4" wide, having a black male minstrel seated on a tree stump and playing an accordian, legs crossed and wearing a tan three-piece suit, rose vest and large bow tie, gold buttons, straw hat with band, brown shoes, curly black hair, smoking pipe.Beside him are three different open receptacles, a large flowering bush, smaller bush and basket for holding cigarettes, matches & ashes. Excellent condition, signed on base with a German copyright insignia. Included, also is a dated, 1882 trade card of Jas.S. Kirk & Co., Chicago, soap makers, showing similar black figure in color with gold background (post card size). Excellent.
