Early, "Transition Model" 16/101, wood articulated, Schoenhut , CARVED HAIR GIRL (predecessor to our item #4659), probably designed by Mr. Leslie, c. 1912, incised label. She is 16" tall, with deeply carved and painted blond, bobbed hair and blue bow on the right side, blue intaglio eyes with molded eyelids, open/closed (grinning) mouth with row of pretty carved teeth. She also has the molded & painted strand of hair across her forehead as pictured on page 46, "Schoenhut Dolls"-Cornson. There has been no repainting to her head or body although there is play wear to the paint on her hands and legs as well has some paint wear to the back of her hair and the tip of her nose (nothing bad or distracting) Wonderful example and very hard to find.
