18" tall, beautiful, early papiermache or composition shoulderhead lady with short, curly blond, molded center-parted hair, very detailed, painted eyes, rosey cheeks and perfect complexion. Her body is pink cloth covered with stitched-on, antique eyelet undies, leather arms and wooden lower legs (probably replaced) with heeled black shoes and white stockings (very well made). She wears an outstanding, original two-piece, dark green cotton, printed walking costume, fitted and lined jacket has long sleeves with lace insertion and gold trim at the neckline and cuffs, long matching skirt. An outstanding example of this type doll as detailed on p.136, 9th Blue Book. Doll and costume are circa 1880s. Very attractive looking. See also p.312 20th Century Dolls-Anderton for face.
