He is incised: 123 K * R Simon & Halbig and etched: Repro. #1 Butler '76 under his wig on his bisque sockethead, which is of the finest bisque I've ever seen. He has the same big brown eyes, set to the side, and mischievous grin with closed, wide-smiling mouth and very fat, rosy upper cheeks, very deep molding, pert little nose, finely painted upper lashes and multi-stroke brows, wonderful cheek coloring and lovely, boy-style, brown hair wig. His body is just as terrific and very similar to the original in that his wrists are straight, jointed at the elbows and knees and dressed in wonderful, old velvet pants, shirt and vest with antique brown leather tied shoes and socks. A fine doll and worthy of your consideration since the original costs over $10,000.
