WONDERFUL, early German automaton of an Austrian Dancing Couple, each is incised: 70-14 (only) on their bisque socketheads, have inset blue glass eyes, very finely painted, multi-stroke upper and lower lashes as well as multi-stroke brows, tiny open mouths with incised teeth, lovely coloring, original tiny blond, curly wig on the man and long, blond hair wig on the lady. They have composition and wood bodies with painted shoes, wooden arms and wear all their original ethnic costumes including headdresses. There is a gear wound mechanism beneath the lady's cone-shape skirt and key between the man's legs-they dance and circle around when wound. Excellent.
