10" tall, very rare and unusual elderly man bisque sockethead doll from the Portrait Series of American legendary figures produced by Simon & Halbig for Dressel, c.1896. He has an elongated nose, thickly molded, grey brows, inset, brown glass eyes, closed, smiling mouth and molded and red lined wrinkles, prominent chin and is incised: S 3 in the series. He has his orig short, blond wig and wears all his original clothing, a tan and black striped shirt with grey overalls with tan suspenders & black boots. He is in excellent condition and also quite rare in this size. Exceptional doll.
