Very RARE, c.1940s, comic character doll, NANCY, 8" all hard plastic with original black caracul wig, sleep eyes with molded lashes and painted lower lashes, closed mouth, swivel head and five-piece body with molded & painted black shoes. As seen and described on page 472, "Hake's Price Guide to Character Toys", 2nd edition (and valued @ $1650), she wears her original wine red velveteen skirt with attached shirt and stiff slip, black felt vest with three buttons, red hair bow, original satin panties. Believe she was a premium from Post Grape-Nuts Flakes for the cartoon strip designed by Ernie Bushmiller. She is in very good condition, some fabric bleeding on back of sleeve and collar.
