9" tall, all felt cloth, tagged: Lenci/Torino/Made in Italy- mascotte provincial girl with painted "surprised" look, side-glancing, brown eyes, lashes and molded and painted brows, two-tone painted mouth, applied ears and brass hoop earrings, c.1930s. She wears a black felt bonnet with huge black felt rose at the back and long purple felt skirt with three rows of felt trim, mint green felt jacket with yellow trim and a long ruffled organdy apron with cirss-cross ties, long cotton pantaloons, socks and purple felt shoes. She has stitched fingers with separate thumbs and carries an additional paper heart tag in one hand titled: Sorrentina Campania. Very sweet little doll with some moth holes to the skirt and a few in the jacket (mostly on the back) also on the soles of her shoes. None on her body or face. Early example and very hard to find.
