12" long, hard to find, antique bisque, sockethead character baby with a different look, circa 1926, incised: 590/ A.1 M./Germany/ D.R.G.M. This cute, cabinet-size baby has inset blue glass eyes, upper and lower finely painted lashes, one-stroke brows, an open mouth with two upper baby teeth and good coloring (tiny paint flake in lashes that is very hard to see). Her bent-limb, baby body is either repainted or an old replacement in good condition with two small finger chips and she wears a multi-layered, antique baby doll outfit with lots of tucks and lace trim, charming, matching baby bonnet over her short brown (baby style) wig, white leather baby shoes and antique knit socks. She has distinctive modeling to her cheeks and is in excellent condition. Would look wonderful in a cradle or with a bigger antique doll.
