Wonderful and very hard-to-find, antique bisque socket head character baby with closed mouth, beautiful blue glass, sleep eyes, incised eyelids finely painted upper lashes. Incised: DIP 3 with green circular stamp: Geschutzt/S&Co./Germany. He was made by the German firm of Swaine Co., circa 1910, and measures 12 1/2" long on original German-made compo and wood baby body with excellent finger and toe detail and original excellent finish, original blond baby-style wig (somewhat worn), undressed. Except for an old (reglued) circular chip inside the neck socket, he is in excellent condition. SUPER! Ask us about his smaller (perfect brother, DIP 1 with brown eyes). What a delightful pair.
