Unusually large, nearly 6" tall, antique bisque shoulderhead (only), c.1910 GIBSON GIRL lady to make a 21" size doll (needs kid body with small waist). With original lovely, brown glass sleep eyes and real hair lashes as well as painted lower lashes and closed mouth with upturned chin, perfect blush and coloring, multi-stroke soft brown eyebrows, long slender nose she is incised 172. over 7 Made in Germany and is the largest size we've seen. Remnants of her plaster pate and lines to show where her original kid body was attached authenticate her age. She also has an old, short (tight) hairline at the rim behind one ear (which was probably made when trying to remove the pate) and will, of course, be covered by an appropriate wig. What an outstanding doll she will make when again assembled and dressed! Current blue book value, complete is over $3600. Made by the renouned firm of J.D. Kestner. RARE.
